Consider Scale of Design
Scale is a feature of your quilt that should not be ignored. This illustrates the number of shapes or blocks of various sizes that are required to make a quilt of the same size. All of these quilts measure around 60" x 72" (lap size). A large scale design can be assembled very quickly and requires less fabric. A smaller scale design requires more time to assemble and has higher fabric requirements because there are more seam allowances.
