Row Quilt Layout
The goal in this quilt layout is to make all the rows the same length with the blocks looking evenly distributed. I've used several strategies in this example:
-
Variety of block sizes
-
Square shaped blocks and rectangle shaped blocks
-
Two different blocks in one row (houses and baskets)
-
Off set (uneven) blocks (flowers)
-
Block, end, and row spacers
-
Colored row spacer under the houses and baskets.
-
Same blocks on the top and bottom row for balance

For Laser Users:
Cutting plans for row quilts can be made by placing the shapes for multiple blocks in one cutting plan. Each layer in the cutting plan is a different fabric so each block will be a different fabric. The triangles in the baskets are the same size so they can be cut together. The pieced border is made up of blue and gray squares that are the same size so they can be cut together in the a cutting plan.
