Use the quilt planners to quickly plan a quilt using a variety of layouts and settings.  Pick blocks from the block library and see what your quilt will look like before you make it.  The quilt planners are designed to see the pattern you are creating using either a light or a dark background.   Each block design is made up of pattern shapes and background shapes.  Patterns that are asymmetrical have a direction (right or left).  The name of the block follows this naming method: "pattern name - background color - direction".  The background shapes are usually cut from the same fabric, whereas the pattern shapes may be cut from different fabrics.  The color(s) of the pattern shapes will contrast the background color to show the pattern.  The quilt planners are designed to show patterns that are created using any combination of blocks, cornerstones, and sashings.
